Quote from TRKAC :why cant the car collision in this game be non realistic?

Simple, the objective from the game is to be most realistic possible...

Crashing, losing your race is a part of it as happens in real life...

The best way, is just avoid collisions, and (try to) don't crash...
Let's try to be peaceful one more time ...

Quote from TRKAC :Miracle happened,I had a "normal" race in this game,2 lap race
The game starts,1 lap goes, second lap goes,3 lap goes, the race restarts
1 lap goes ,22. lap goes,3. lap goes etc.

there aint a a finish, after the race is over nothing happens, you just keep on driving
total anticlimax compared to the start of the racee

Please, watch F1, Indycar Series, NASCAR or any other racing category.

Racing is just start to run, run, run, then the race ends and they park the cars anywhere, then goes to other track in other week...
In LFS there are not these trucks taking the cars from a track to other, so another race just starts again so people can race more...

Also, you said about crashers in other thread, i can help you, no trolling, just tips from a man to a man:

There are 5 types of servers: (Good) Racing, (Bad) Racing, Cruise, Drift and Crashing...

If you enter a server called "Crash", its just for crashing and driving wrong way, etc... If you want race thats is not the right place.

If you want fair race, search a good racing server... [AA], Redline Racing, there are good (and fair) drivers where you can find good racing and no crashing (no crashing on purpose, of course.... Everyone makes mistakes on track sometimes)...

I tried to be peaceful and im talking from man to man, im hoping to you show some respect please...

Quote from TRKAC :ha ha ha this forum really is a joke,99% of answers are from some retarded kids that troll or that cant comprehend even some basic stuff

peace

The answers are answers... You say where is the problem, we say what we think about the problem, and "There is no problem" is a comprehensible answer...

Points of view, learn this... Its not because you didnt like LFS because of some things that it becomes a bad simulator...

Thats why i don't play those games like BF, COD...

There are only kids tho thinks they are badass, make questions but don't want to see the answer...

About manuals, its the same like make a question: Make a question and be stupid for some seconds, don't make and be stupid forever.

Btw, good one Inouva

Nice bumping...

Im with MAGGOT:
Quote from MAGGOT :-1 for "drift" track. +1 for mountain pass.

Could be nice if was not made only for drifting, but as a different use for the TBO's, like rally hillclimbs (and downhill)... Going up the Pikes Peak hills would be awesome in LFS...

kids -)

Im not trolling... All the problems you had, could be simple solved if you readed the manual (or/and LFS Wiki) before...

How to configure cameras, turn on/off wheel and driver hands, all of this is on LFS Wiki...

Quote from atc quicksilver :ut my opinion is as long as you pass the opponent without damaging their car, or punting them off the track, then it's a good overtake. If that means banging wheels or block passing, then so be it.

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :How can you analyze an overtake approaching someone when you don't know what line they'll take and how defensive they'll be? And i don't see your point? You have to think and analyze a switch back? One of the most basic overtaking maneuvers?

That trick won't work with good racers though.

Worked with my best rival so far...

Also, you are behind the car, how you don't know what line he taken?

Quote from Si Mclaren :Normally i don't use just use 1 technique, normally i use instinct...

If they use the inside line, prepare a Switchback, if they brake early to protect inside, brake a little later and be side to side on the straight after, then finish the overtaking...

Most of the people thinks that the manouvers are simple, thats why some drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher are the best on overtaking and defending...

Just for a example, to Hamilton pass Michael on China 2010, he made a Tow, Took defensive line, made a Switchback and then a hang-out manouver... 4 manouvers in one pass, but to most of people was "just a switchback"...

I watched FPVaaron's race, and saw a lot of times when he could had passed (or tried to pass) the leader, but he was too cautelous...

Im not trying to say that im a badass, just that overtaking/defending is not something so simple as looks...

E:

Quote from Jakg :Personally (without contact) I think you should be able to block as much as you like - if the racer behind you really is quicker they will have no problem getting past you.

Thats why people "hated" me on demo... Imagine 1 car holding a pack of 5 cars 2 seconds faster...

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :If you have to think about overtaking and analyze it then your doing it wrong.

Switchback Huh?

Normally i analyze when im aproaching, then just do 1 move to pass...

If the driver is someone who likes do defend, i slow down a bit then get him in surprise...

Teehee

EDIT: Also I am notorious by most for my 'never pull back' sort of attitude when it comes to passing, 30% chance of contact when i pass. I am tough. such a badass

Never pull back doesnt makes you be "more imponent" or more "tough" on track, just increases your chance to crash...

Lie... But, normally i don't use just use 1 technique, normally i use instinct...
Driver is too cautelous, divebomb...
Driver is too agressive, force a mistake.
"Normal" driver, get him in surprise...

And then it goes...

Quote from Eclipsed :This could go awfully wrong - for example someone got lost lap for some reason to 3 drivers, but he is very fast, overtakes each of them, after overtaking car lap ahead you automatically got a blue flag displayed, even if you pull away, after he overtakes 3rd car = automatic DQ,and for what? Being faster than cars lap ahead? BTW,once I got a penalty for similar situation... (stupid Provost)

3 consecutives Blue Flags...

I was racing online at (FM) Fox Junkies server, in 3rd lap my rear tires got weared out and i decided to do a pitstop to change tires.

But, when i pitted, it didn't took 1s and already appeared "PIT STOP: [Finished]", and i was with fresh tires...

Red flag would only make sense if Safety Car was implemented, and there was a option to disable Shift+S/Shift+P...

Lots of realism, but only for leagues... Anyway, good idea, i would like it...

Black flag doesnt needs so much "rules", 3 Blue flags or driving backward = DQ (Black flag)...

I lost the discussion, but S.E.T.H., i would like to argue with you...

Until a month, I was a demo racer, and with a bad PC. Because of that, had to always use Force View and gained a "advantage" comparised by using normal view. But...

When i entered S2 (after 40000 online KMs), noticed what the tracks give me more FPS than BL, so i could use normal view... And i didnt lost that advantage from Force View, even without use it... How?

The advantage, is bigger for newbie drivers (don't get offended please), because they cant "feel" (or imagine, in case of you drive by mouse/kb) where the track ends... So if a newbie who uses F view stop using it, will go off track, spin, like happened to me. But when you are experienced, the views will simple not care... You know how much accelerate to use the outside kerb, know how to brake and use all the entry kerb, know how early to corner-in to use the apex kerb... Viewing the track just gets you distracted...

So, the F view gives advantage only for newbies... But, the experience/hability counts the same, so it is not a "so good cheat". For WRs, etc, there are only super-experienced drivers on the Top 10, so view the track or not won't care nothing, just distract...

When i was newbie, i used force View to know where to brake in the 2nd last corner at BL1... Then, i noticed the boards, near the trees... 100, 50, 25, 10 meters... And noticed what my braking point was near the 50 mts mark... So, force view just lost its importance and i started to look up to see the marks instead of looking to the kerb...

I, as someone who started really bad, with no one to help me, to a S2 driver, signed to a good team, with "not bad" PBs, i can tell you: Don't care if others are cheating. Don't care if anything help others. Find what help you, find how you can be faster/better, then you will be fast and competitive.

This: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=76186

Is the best idea for a "Top Speed track"... Its not a pure straight, but its not a oval... There are 2 high speed corners on each end, but not so fast as you will need to brake...

It is... Perfect!!

If LFS had frontal draft (read quote), would be a very nice pack racing, better than Daytona, Talladega or everything else...

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :Car on the back make higher pressure in front of him, and the result of this is pushing car in front. But of course this isn't so strong push as for car in back.

The physics has 2 major problems, as i noticed:

1: Aerodinamics

Draft is too strong, and there is no Frontal/Lateral draft;

2: Grip

The cars have too much grip, but Scawen already found this and its working on it...
